Objective
Integrated urban and neighborhood development focuses on bringing together and linking different specialist policies. The aim is to consider the (urban) structure, infrastructure facilities and housing offers and their interrelationships and interactions as part of integrated planning. This integrated planning requires good cooperation and networking between different players (urban planning, architecture, housing industry) in order to promote mutual understanding and cooperation. This applies both to the concrete implementation of urban development and housing projects and to conceptual instruments such as integrated urban development and housing supply concepts. The aim of the project is to bring conceptual approaches, implementation practice and players in urban development and housing promotion closer together, to network and to learn together from good practices.
Procedure
Target groups from the fields of urban planning, architecture and housing are brought together at specialist forums, which are held twice a year. The aim is to discuss conceptual considerations in the context of specialist input and to exchange good examples of linking urban development and housing promotion and to evaluate and discuss success factors and obstacles. The specialist forums are designed as half-day events on various topics with practical reports and plenty of space for discussion and informal exchange.
Results
Two specialist forums are held each year: In spring/summer, the event takes place in person at the Baukunstarchiv Dortmund, in fall/winter as an online event. Contributions and results of the event are documented and made available to the event participants.
