Time frame: | 08/2023 – 12/2023 |
The REGIONALEn are a special format of regionalised structural policy in the state of Northrhine-Westfalia since 1997. Since their beginnings, the REGIONALEn have been carried out every two to three years in changing regions. The usual duration of a REGIONALE is about four to six years. Each REGIONALE officially ends with a presentation year. The last REGIONALE in OstWestfalenLippe celebrated its presentation year in 2022. The current REGIONALEn in Südwestfalen and Bergisches RheinLand will come to an end in 2025.
With the decision of the state government to re-advertise the REGIONALEn in 2023, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is now offering its regions another opportunity to apply for a REGIONALE (2030). Within the framework of this project, the ILS is taking over the organisation and evaluation of the tendering and application process for the upcoming REGIONALE.
The aim of the project is to provide external scientific advice to support decision making in the process of selecting the next REGIONALE-Region. Against this background, the project work focuses on the preparation and follow-up of various expert jury meetings as well as the review and preliminary evaluation of all incoming applications. The criteria for evaluation are co-developed with the REGIONALE-jury throughout the competition process.
