Open Access
Open Access stands for unrestricted and free access to quality-checked scientific access to quality-assured scientific information on the Internet. By removing technical, financial and legal barriers, OA helps to accelerate scientific innovation processes and improve the visibility of research results. This supports researchers in their research and publication processes and maximizes the benefits of publicly funded research.
The ILS is committed to Open Access and thereby follows the “Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities“ of the major German research organizations in 2003. The ILS Open Access Policy published in 2017 was updated in an institute-wide process in 2024.
