The research at the ILS has three research foci:
- Development of Sustainable Built Environments
- Transformation of Urban Spaces and Mobility
- Socio-Spatial Inequalities, Participation and Cohesion
The work and research on “Geoinformation for Urban Research” complement the three research foci. The central content-related approaches follow the guiding principle “Understanding and Shaping Urban Change” and will be presented in more detail in the longer-term Forschungsstrategie 2022+ (Fortschreibung) [Research Strategy 2022+ (Update)]. The strategy will be concretised, operationalised and implemented through third-party funded research projects and the Forschungs- und Arbeitsprogramm [Research and Work Programme].
