Studied Geography at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and obtained his doctorate at the Technical University of Munich in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Postdoctoral periods at the Institute of Geography and Institute of Geoinformatics at the Heidelberg University and the University of Münster, respectively. Acted as Assistant Professor in Urban Analytics and Visualisation at the University of Warwick (United Kingdom).
