ILS researcher Cornelia Tippel, together with Heike Hanhörster from TU Berlin, has published an article in the “Urban Planning” journal. Based on Lipsky’s (1980/2010) concept of “street-level bureaucracy”, this article analyzes the everyday work and practices of school staff to gain a better understanding of their formal and informal role in migration governance and newcomers’ access to resources. Thereby, the article highlights street-level bureaucrats’ embeddedness, in particular in local networks of social infrastructures. https://doi.org/10.17645/up.8570.
